Looking ahead, Memorial Day Weekend is around the corner and it’s always a popular time for camping. Durango is also home to the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, which takes place May 24-26. The event attracts cyclists of all levels from around the country to race along the historic Durango and Rio Grande Western Raiload route. There are several events for non-competitors too including the McDonalds and E-bike Citizen Tours, and plenty of spots for spectators to watch the race.
